Children's Support Worker

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Paragon Social Care is the councils first choice care provider when it comes to supporting their vulnerable children and young people .

We work with local authorities across the UK, providing 24/7 packages of support for some of the most vulnerable children and young people in society.

These 24/7 packages of support are when young people are placed in unregulated short term accommodation. This usually happens when they are between placements and whilst the council searches for a new long term placement for that young person. The staffing ratio is always 2:1 or higher. During these packages of support it is our responsibility to keep the young person safe, entertained and stimulated.

Besides the 24/7 packages of support, we also support children and young people in the following settings:

• Hospital 1:1's
• Support within the family home at a staffing ratio of either 1:1 or 2:1
• Support within the community
• Welfare checks
• Home visits
• Supervised contact

We are looking for experienced support staff to work with the young people in our care. Ideally you will have experience of working with vulnerable and/or challenging children.

We cannot guarantee any particular number of hours each week. However good support staff with the flexibility to work will benefit from up to 70 hours a week.

Please only apply if you meet the following criteria:

• You are a car driver and have access to a vehicle to get to work
• Your DBS is CLEAR
• You are an experienced support worker, preferable in working with young people.
• There are no restrictions to the number of hours you can work on your visa
• You are flexible in your work schedule and can commit to a minimum of 4 shifts a week.

Salary: £14.00-£28.00 per hour
