Overall Purpose of The Job
To provide administrative and drafting support to the General Counsel and Legal team.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Liaising with external advisors as required.
Maintenance of legal databases and directories.
Assistance with legal Services budget, monitoring of external legal spend and reporting.
To be aware of and actively promote and implement V.Group values.
Drafting and reviewing various types of commercial contracts with vendors, suppliers, customers and advising the business in connection with same.
Ensuring that commercial contracts comply with V.Group’s policies and procedures and advising the business in connection with same, including obtaining necessary approvals.
Arranging circulation and signature of documents by directors or authorised representatives.
Ensuring commercial contracts are uploaded to our internal Sharepoint and Contract Management systems. Assisting with the implementation of the CMS including liaison with other members of the Legal team.
Drafting ad hoc legal documents as required.
Undertaking legal research and assisting with compliance matters
Supporting the legal team on other projects (such as M&A, corporate reorganisation, entities closure etc.).
To undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as may be required.
Required Experience
Law Degree
Experience as a paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department
Methodical with attention to detail and accuracy.
Confident and professional with dealings with all levels of management and be a team player.
Positive, motivated, fast learner with a flexible approach.
Proactive, enthusiastic and keen to help across a wide range of work.
High level of computer literacy, including good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
DESIRABLE:
Experience in the shipping industry is advantageous
Legal / contracts administrative experience.
