Role Overview & Responsibilities

For the last 7 years Adventure Bristol have been providing safe and fun activities to thousands at their Leap of Faith high ropes course at Wild Place as well as bringing mobile activities to infant, primary and secondary schools in the area.

Adventure Bristol are looking for fun energetic, outgoing individuals to be part of a small team. You will receive lots of training and support so that you can take on more responsibilities in the day-to-day business with a variety of roles. These will include working on the ropes course, helping with other outdoor activities, helping with our mobile climbing wall etc as well as some social media and marketing. You may also be assisting with the construction of our new ropes course at Ashton Court.

Adventure Bristol also run bushcraft, team challenges, bubble football, laser tag, axe throwing and more both onsite and out at schools. Full training will be provided.

They are particularly keen to recruit Apprentices with an interest in climbing, archery, bushcraft and first aid but not essential.

Day to Day Duties:

  • Checking and preparing the ropes course
  • Greeting, and harnessing up participants
  • Clipping them on ropes course and overseeing climbing sessions
  • Working the giant swing and overseeing the leap of faith.
  • Putting equipment away at the end of the day and checking the party yurt.
  • Assisting with any groups e.g. stag/hens/corporates/schools with axe throwing, fire lighting, other activities.
  • Some social media – asking for Trip Adviser reviews etc

Skills and qualifications:

  • Level 1 (GCSE Grade D / 3) in Functional Skills Maths and English is essential.
  • 5 GCSEs A*- C / 4-9 (Desirable)
  • Some prior climbing experience (Desirable)
  • Experience of working or managing groups of children (Desirable)
  • First aid experience (Desirable)
  • Drivers preferred (Desirable)

Essential Details:

Salary Details: £6.00 + per hour depending on age and experience

Working Hours: 5 days a week 10am to 4pm (to include a Saturday or Sunday)

Open to under 18s: Prefer over 18 year old – driver preferred.
