Graduate Software Engineer – Hybrid role

A dynamic and innovative software company is seeking a highly motivated Graduate Software Engineer to join its growing team. If you have recently graduated with a degree in either Computer Studies, Maths with Computing Studies or another IT related degree then this could be the first step in your successful career. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and a strong foundation in computer science principles. In addition you will need to have some experience of building databases With the help of the experienced team you will exist in the design, development and maintenance of software solutions for a wide range of clients. The role is hybrid based with three days working remotely and two day based at the company offices in Dudley.

As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will be building application software for new or existing client systems and getting involved with the further development of the company’s ERP application. The company very much invest in employee training and development and you will have the opportunity to attend an external training course conducting by industry experts to ensure that you gain an in depth understanding of the full development lifecycle. It is likely that you will start in an application support capacity while being given small development tasks. As you progress and demonstrate your skills, is it likely that you will be given increasingly more complex development tasks and responsibility with a view to becoming a programmer and in the longer term a software consultant.

To be considered you will have the following:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Maths with Computing or related IT subject

A real interest in programming with some database experience ideally with SQL

The desire to work within a software development environment

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The role is offered on a hybrid basis with a salary of up to £30,000 plus benefits as well as opportunities for growth and development within the company.
