Job description
Afrah Al Batul is seeking to appoint a Qur'an and Islamic Studies Teacher for our Weekend Madrasah programme for boys and girls aged 11-16. The classes run every Sunday during term time (39 weeks per year) and the working time is 11:00am - 02:10pm. 13 weeks of holidays are given each academic year in line with the Lancashire County Council holiday calendar for local authority schools.
The candidate must be fluent in reading, writing & speaking English & must be computer literate. Formal qualifications in Islamic Studies and at least 1 year of teaching experience is highly desirable.
The candidate should be confident in teaching all subjects on the Curriculum including Qur'an, Tajwid, Arabic, 'Aqidah, Fiqh, Sirah, Tarikh, Tafsir, Hadith & Shama'il.
The Role
- To teach children to learn about Islam and to inspire them to be better Muslims by being a good role model.
- To plan lessons according to the curriculum and deliver sessions in a creative and engaging manner.
- To assess students learning to ensure teaching practice and learning is of a high standard.
- To be able to follow and execute Madrasah learning and behaviour policies and procedures.
Requirements
- We can only accept applications from UK residents.
- Have a commitment to developing the next generation of Muslims in the UK.
- Desirable: QTS or relevant qualification to teach children.
- Communicate and interact with children using the English language.
- Experience of working with children in the UK.
- Support children's learning through Knowledge and understanding of how children learn.
- Please note this role is based on site at the Madrasah in Accrington and not for online teaching
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 3 per week
Salary: £8.00-£15.00 per hour
