Proofing Print Technician

The main purpose of our Proofing Print Technician is to provide Reprographics proofing services for Devizes and other Ball Aerosol Packaging plants as required

The main responsibilties include

• Observe the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
• To observe ISO 9002 requirements
• To manage the proofing facility in its entirety and ensure a professional service
• To formulate all ink mixes for new designs and to ensure that all inks demands from production are met.
• To proof designs and/or submit colour samples in line with customer requirements
• To document the proofing process to ensure efficiency when transferred into production
• To monitor and order inks and other proofing supplies
• To generate and maintain ‘standard files’
• To assess new and alternative products
• To liaise with production and assist in potential problem solving issues
• To liaise with suppliers for any purchasing requirements – performing supplier audits where necessary
• Liaise with Planning and Reprographics on programme and production issues and attend relevant production meetings
• To check design through to production using appropriate quality checks and documentation
• To maintain test records and history files
• To keep management informed of any problems which may delay production from the repro department
• Ensure that the Repro department is kept clean and clear of rubbish at all times
• Ensure ink waste and chemicals are disposed of in the correct and legal manner
