Role Overview & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
· Familiarity with equipment to facilitate loading and unloading of steel materials on and off job sites.
· Layout, rigging, connecting, bolting, and welding steel.
· Align structural steel vertically and horizontally using the appropriate tools.
· Commitment to taking care of company tools, equipment, and personal tools.
· Ability to work in all positions and in varying conditions.
· Follow all safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
· Must be a team-player and support all coworkers.
· Familiarity with general construction equipment, tools and components
· Regular travel to and from jobsites located throughout San Jose, the mid-peninsula, San Francisco, and Monterey
Qualifications
· Welding certification preferred, but not required.
· Familiar with and applies AWS and AISC standards.
· Must have field layout experience.
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work independently and with others.
· Accountable, on time, and have exemplary work ethic.
· Ability to lift 50 lbs.
· Must be able to work at heights as required.
· Familiarity with the use of torches, punches, grinder, drills and other power tools
· Familiarity with various welding machines, shop and lift equipment
· Able to work with a variety of metals.
· Knowledge of steel erection and field welding.
· Ability to accurately read structural, architectural, and fabrication drawings.
· Clean DMV record
· Must have reliable vehicle and valid ID for employment.
