Harbour Master

37 Hours per Week

Bridgend County Borough Council is looking to appoint a new Harbour Master for Porthcawl Marina.
The successful candidate will act as the Premises Responsible Person for the properties that fall within the remit of the team and manage the associated services.
The role will require you to manage the facilities, service and staff associated with Porthcawl Harbour and other coastal services such as lifeguarding, maintaining a safe environment and maximising use by residents and visitors. There will be a requirement to oversee the Harbour Operational Group and report to the Habour Board.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a marine environment, have good communication and people management skills, managing a small team, and be willing to work flexibly and undertake shift work on occasions.
Emergency Response and Standby Duties allowance of £39.24
(Any hours worked on the weekend will attract an additional payment of third of a time
The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
