Do you care about trees and want to improve the local environment? Then come and help us achieve it!
You will be working within the Parks and Open Spaces and be responsible for making and managing Tree Protection Orders (TPO’s) and Conservation area notices including enforcement action in relation to tree and landscape matters.
You will need a minimum Level 5 qualification in Arboriculture e.g. BSc (Hons), FDSc, HND, RFS Dip, ABC Level 6 dip., and have proven past experience of dealing with tree and landscape protection issues, preferably in Local Government. You should have a sound knowledge and understanding of modern arboricultural practices and associated legislation.
You will be highly motivated with proven experience of making and managing TPO’s, managing other protected and none protected trees. You will be expected to undertake unaccompanied site and tree surveys in a variety of areas.
In addition, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills being able to communicate clearly and effectively face to face, by telephone or other means, whilst demonstrating courtesy and tact in dealing with a wide range of people.
Possession of a valid full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is an essential requirement.
