Role Overview & Responsibilities
Heavy Lifting/Rigger Minimum 3 Month Fixed Term Contract
We are currently recruiting for a heavy parts Mover/Rigger to assist us in a small but challenging project for a minimum of three months. We are looking for someone to assist a welder with his work disassembling heavy-duty equipment so we are not seeking someone for either driving or welding heavy equipment skills.
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities.
- Equipment setup: Assemble and disassemble lifting equipment according to specification and guidelines
- Rigging operations: Use rigging techniques, such as chains, pullies, hoists, and slings
- Ability to operate and be familiar with block and tackle
- Problem solving: Identify and resolve issues related to securing and moving heavy parts and steel plates including navigating obstacles, clearance and weight distribution
- Documentation: Sort and Keep records of parts and disassembled parts
- Safety protocols; Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
Requirements
- Physical Fitness: Possess good physical strength and stamina to handle heavy lifting and perform physically demanding tasks
- Rigging expertise: Have knowledge of rigging techniques and equipment including, pullies, chains and block and tackle
- Technical knowledge: Understand the principles of lifting and securing very heavy loads
- Communication skills: Be able to communicate effectively with your Supervisor and the ability to follow instructions
- Safety conscious: Follow safety guidelines and possess knowledge of safe lifting and moving practices to prevent accidents
Prior experience in equipment moving, rigging or a related field is essential.
In return we offer an hourly rate of £13 per hour depending on experience. The project can start as soon as you are available to work.
