Garden Centre Team Member

Role Overview

To prepare for the busy season ahead, Coleman’s are now recruiting Garden Centre Team Members with previous retail experience. We are looking for people who will provide high-class customer service and who want a long-term career in the garden centre. The role provides career opportunities and a great work environment. We have part time positions available, 24 – 32 hours per week including weekends.

The operation runs 7 days a week and therefore it is a core requirement to be able to work flexibly including working weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis. Occasional evening working.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a high level of customer service
• Using the EPOS till system and money handling
• Working indoor and outdoor in all weathers to help with stocking products
• Transport goods around the garden centre from storeroom and storage areas to retail spaces around the site.
• Work at speed together with attention to detail, under health and safety requirements when moving heavy objects.
• Site maintenance

Essential Requirements:

• Previous retail experience, 1 year minimum experience
• Good communication skills
• Good attendance and punctuality
• Have the ability to work as part of a team
• Flexibility to work as and when required, minimum 16 hours per week.

Desirable Requirements:

• Previous experience with forklift driving operation.
• Horticultural knowledge
• Experience of safely working in heavy lifting environments

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 16-32 per week

Salary: £5.31-£10.00 per hour
