Role Overview & Responsibilities
About us :
Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing the Group’s relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services. The division also performs an important internal role for the Group by providing equities, markets, lending and transaction banking execution capabilities to other CBA business units that allows them to capture opportunities with business customers. This reinforces the Group’s purpose to improve the financial wellbeing of our customers and communities.
IB&M Finance supports the IB&M businesses (Institutional Banking and Markets) in providing financial control, financial analysis, product control, regulatory accounting and related project implementation for finance related functions.
Picture yourself in the team :
London Finance is responsible for the financial control, Regulatory Reporting and Tax compliance for the London Branch.
This role is predominantly responsible for the independent oversight (and preparation when required) of financial management information for CBA London Branch. The role requires a strong working relationship with the Product Control and Treasury Finance Teams and a strong Financial Control focus. This role will report directly to the Head of Finance and Operations.
Do work that matters :
Your work will require a close working relationship with the London Front Office and other Finance areas globally. Responsibilities will include:
Development of strong customer relationships with the various IB&M Divisions and with other IB&M Finance teams.
Providing insightful analysis of Branch performance.
Company Secretarial duties for the London based subsidiaries
End to end accounting for the London subsidiaries including tax compliance and regulatory reporting
Continuous improvement of reporting formats to maintain relevancy and meet customer requirements.
Review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and Annual Adjustment calculation.
We are interested in hearing from you if you have :
Good degree in Finance or a related discipline.
Specialist knowledge regulatory reporting and tax compliance.
Good accounting knowledge and understanding of a range of Financial Markets products.
Accounting Qualification CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
Advanced Excel skills and intermediate to advanced Access skills. Knowledge of VBA, SQL and familiarity with databases.
Experience of change management.
