With an upcoming move to new, purpose designed premises in Taunton we are looking for a Veterinary Receptionist (or two!) to join our team.

Working alongside our team of vets and nurses, our receptionists are key to contributing to our high standard of customer service face to face, by telephone and by email. The successful candidate(s) will also be assisting with maintaining accurate patient records and helping with the appearance and cleanliness of the client facing areas of the practice.

As the first point of contact for our clients and you will need to be able to confidently welcome clients, whether that is face to face or over the telephone. In line with practice protocols, you will be dealing with a wide variety of client enquiries from booking appointments to taking repeat prescription requests and everything in between. You will also be proactively contacting clients with regard to upcoming vaccinations and health checks for their pet(s).

With an eye for detail, you will be responsible for general filing and maintaining accurate patient records including recording weights, routine reminders, adding clinical history and laboratory results.

Other duties include maintaining and record keeping of the daily/weekly/monthly cleaning and maintenance routine for client facing areas, assisting with stock control, carrying out any additional administrative task as required and assisting senior colleagues with their daily duties as requested.

The role can be either full time or part time, with some flexibility within our working hours of 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, with some Saturday mornings.

Educated to GCSE standard in English, Maths and Science is preferred as there is the potential to progress to a Veterinary Nursing qualification for the right candidate.
