Role Overview & Responsibilities
General Summary
This role comprises the processing and preparation of accounting data to meet financial management and reporting objectives. The position holder will be part of an experienced team in Dumfries providing financial and management reporting, SOX compliance and business decision support for the UK businesses.
It’s an excellent role for a developing accountant to learn from those more experienced and build experience and expertise. Subject to the standard company policy and ongoing performance, the successful applicant will be supported to continue their accountancy studies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Accounting for overhead expenditure including monthly accruals and prepayments
- Reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts
- Accounting for outgoing bank & cash transactions
- Monthly intercompany recharges
- Credit card accounting and administration
- Maintenance of Webexpenses expense system and administration of expense claims
- Preparation of documentation for SOX review/audit testing
- Support (and develop onto lead) continuous improvement activities in the finance department and wider business
Experience:
- Partly qualified AAT, or bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting
- Min 12 months experience in a finance department or accountancy practice.
Education:
- Graduate or high level of achievement at A level or equivalent.

- Good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and an ability to analyze large data sets/large volumes of transactions and a desire to learn more in this area.
- Experience of SAP S/4HANA would be advantageous.
