Ecommerce Assistant

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Dalston Mill Fabrics is a family run business who have been involved in the textiles industry for over 40 years. We are rapidly growing our online business with direct to consumer cut length fabric sales. From crafters and dressmakers to small designers and hobbyists we are on our way to becoming the one stop shop they need. We are currently hiring to add to our ecommerce team.

Regular Job Responsibilities Include

Manage new product information uploads. This will include product photography and basic image editing. Experience in photography is not required – we have the equipment to make it very easy to pick up.

Regularly checking the website to find errors to be fixed and improvements that can be made.

Leading the reorganisation of our sample room.

Occasional Job Responsibilities Include

Answering customer queries by phone, email, Facebook regarding order related queries and product information. Resolving customer service issues quickly and efficiently.

Managing our social media channels, regularly scheduling content and replying to comments. Working in a way to test ideas and track performance.

Covering absent staff; courrier labels, packing orders, preparing orders.

Key Skills and Characteristics

The ideal candidates will be outgoing, friendly and passionate about customer service. Good phone manner is essential.

Have an interest in ecommerce and a genuine desire to learn about what makes a great customer experience online

Have a good standard of computer literacy including the use of all Microsoft Office programs especially Excel.

Have a strong work ethic who is willing to work hard to get things done and is not a clock watcher. Needs to have an excellent eye for detail.

Be well organised with the ability to work under pressure.

Have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone of voice to reflect the brand.

Hours: 8am - 4.30pm (7.5hr plus 1hr break)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £20,500.00-£24,000.00 per year
