Junior Creative CAD Designer

DPS Designs Ltd is an award-winning design and engineering business based in Coleford. We design and manufacture chocolates moulds, working with high profile customers such as Marks and Spencer, Aldi, Hotel Chocolat and Thornton’s. We have created many household chocolate characters such as Percy Pig and Harry Hoplot since 1995. We are great believer of creating jobs and training opportunities for local people.

THE ROLE…

We’re looking for a creative and innovative person that is passionate about 3D creative design and love chocolate, who is eager to learn:

You'll be...

· Interpret design briefs from the customers for the chocolate products,

· Create 3D models of chocolate pieces, using Artcam, and other software

· Raise any questions and concerns from the design briefs to refine the design

· Able to communicate effectively both verbally and via email

· Work with other members of the design team to produce concept ideas for different season such as Easter, Christmas, Valentines, Halloween, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day

· Maintain and update New Project Log

· Maintain and update Design Brief Document

· Maintain and update CAD Library

· Maintain and update DPS Design Portfolio

· Prepare design file for prototyping and sampling

· Amend the design model based on customer feedback

· Support the team in making chocolate samples when required

· Ability to think in 3D and good space awareness

· Good communication skills both verbal and written

· Ability to work to a deadline

· Ability to hand sketch would be an advantage

· Experience in using any 3D software would be an advantage though not essential as full training will be given

· No specific education qualification required, school/college leaver and university graduates welcome

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship, Graduate

Salary: £21,500.00-£25,000.00 per year
