Role Overview & Responsibilities
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Dyfed-Powys Police as a Firearms Enquiry Officer based in Aberystwyth.
In this role you will carry out enquiries, in order to assess the suitability of persons for the grant, renewal or variation of firearms and/or shotgun certificates, applications to become Registered Firearm Dealers and explosive certificates. Where public safety is an issue, you will undertake a review of incidents involving firearms/shotgun certificate holders, analyse the information, prepare case files and summaries in order to make objective and impartial judgements and recommendations to the Firearms and Explosives Licensing Specialist.
