Role Overview & Responsibilities
Your role will be to deliver an ambitious curriculum to all by monitoring and recording the health and welfare of the animals accommodated in the Animal Care Unit
Due to continued growth in our animal management department, we have a fantastic opportunity for well organised team player to join our animal management technician team. You will work with a range of species from axolotl to zebra mice and will contribute towards routine husbandry and day to day management of our modern animal management facilities. You will have high standards and attention to detail, with strong practical handling skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and other stakeholders. Duties will include routine husbandry, monitoring stock, providing demonstrations for student’s groups and supervising students on work experience. The successful candidate will join a strong and supportive team and be based at our Houghall Campus in Durham City.
The role will require you to work flexibly and efficiently to maintain the highest professional standards. In addition to industry relevant qualifications at level 3 or above, the successful candidate will be IT literate and Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy. equivalent.
