Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Trainee Stroke Support Worker role is a multidisciplinary role, focused upon the holistic needs of patients post stroke. The role spans across professional boundaries; providing evidence-based, person centered care and rehabilitation.
Development of this new and exciting role will be supported through a combination of the apprenticeship programme, and in post learning. Throughout the apprenticeship training programme, you will be required to develop extended knowledge and skills; aligned with a competency development programme supported within the service,

The purpose of the Stroke Support Worker role is to provide high quality, person centered care to stroke survivors and their families / carer's.
The role sits within the stroke multidisciplinary team, spanning across professional boundaries. The post holder will be required to undertake and maintain extended knowledge and skills competency development, in order to provide evidence based practice.
Please note: whilst employees are in the training post, the descriptions of duties would be expected to be carried out under supervision until appropriate competencies are met. The employees will be undertaking an apprenticeship learning programme whilst training and therefore be placed within a Band 2 role, an addendum to current working contracts will be made to ensure a new apprenticeship learning commitment..
