Following substantial investment by leading global construction firm, GS Engineering & Construction (GS E&C), Elements Europe have a number of large projects in the pipeline and is looking to scale up the delivery capability with immediate effect.

Job Title: Machine Operator

Level: Employee

Department: Production

Reports to: Working Team Leader and Production Supervisor

Direct Reports: None

Salary: £13.50 per hour

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Operation of Steel Profile Framework machine
• Working with coiled sheet metal
• Perform daily maintenance and machine setup for production, as well as machine shutdowns at the end of the day
• Basic machine troubleshooting – determining what is causing any operating errors and liaising with the maintenance engineer
• Participate in manufacturer training on all machinery, and in-house, as applicable
• Report all quality/design problems to the Production Supervisor
• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation in addition to Elements Europe Risk Assessment and Procedures
• Ensure that all works are manufactured in accordance with Elements Europe drawings and specifications
• Ensure that all works are manufactured in accordance with Elements quality systems and checks
• Ensure housekeeping standards are kept at the level required

Experience and Knowledge required:

• Previous experience as a Machine Operator or Roll Forming Machine Operator (preferred, but not essential)
• Knowledge of working with sheet or coiled metal
• Computer literate
• Ability to comprehend technical drawings at a basic level
• High level of attention to detail
• Strong team player
• Ability to take direction and to ask questions if unsure
• Punctual and reliable
