Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Graduate Trainee program has been created to invite University Graduates the opportunity to engross themselves into one of the several areas across the business. The program will give the graduates the opportunity to gain the necessary skills and experience involved in secured lending across residential and commercial property in the UK.

Initially undertaking a 6-week basic training program, then working closely over a 12-month period with an experienced member of the department’s team, their time will be spent learning the processes and responsibilities of the role.

This opportunity will help the applicant obtain new skills and knowledge with the aim of them being offered a role within our team, starting them on a career path within the group.

Key Accountabilities

Development Finance

  • Learning how to make up case files including basic online searches such as Land Registry, Credit Searches, Company searches, Rightmove searches.
  • Understanding how to interpret the above searches and underwrite individual cases.
  • Learning how to assess valuation reports as well as monitoring surveyor reports for live construction projects.
  • Preparation of loan documentation.
  • Data input and management into systems.
  • Assisting underwriters, case managers & portfolio managers with preparing credit papers.
  • Liaising with external parties, i.e. valuers, solicitors & monitoring surveyors.
  • Responsibilities may involve helping relevant teams streamline processes within the organisation.
  • Responsibilities might also include analytical tasks in regard to sales, pipelines and existing loan portfolios.

Accountant

  • Accounts Payable - Processing invoices, paying suppliers.
  • Processing daily payments for loan completions and broker commission, and reconciling system to bank accounts.
  • Assist with the accounting for the Term Product related group entities, including month end close and reconciliation processes.
  • Assist with managing ongoing cash requirements for funding term loans and prepare bank funding drawdown requests.
  • Assist with quarterly FCA reporting.
  • Assist with the annual statutory audit and twice yearly AUP (Agreed Upon Procedures) audit.
  • Assist with the production of monthly management information packs and reports for business heads and directors.

Underwriter

  • Ensure all aspects of the loans are recorded accurately on Fusion and meet underwriting guidelines.
  • Carry out an assessment of the mortgage application to ensure all aspects of our underwriting criteria are met.
  • Provide concise and accurate updates to brokers.
  • Proactively chase brokers for outstanding requirements.
  • Ensure all underwriting is in line with Company policy and within regulation.
  • Ensure that all cases are Underwritten within the Groups Risk appetite.
  • Build good relationships with 3rd party suppliers including brokers and solicitors to assist in the smooth flow of business.
  • Maintaining a pipeline of cases, overseeing cases from inception through to completion.
  • Maintain broker relationships that are integral to the growth for WOSL.
  • All work is to be carried out in accordance with Enra Specialist Finance policies and procedures.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • A robust knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
  • Interest in property finance is encouraged.
  • Previous financial experience would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Must have Graduated from University.
