Role Overview & Responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Work as a member of a team to configure, monitor, diagnose in real time, the complex interdependent software programs that comprise of the Formula 1 timing and data processing systems whilst anticipating and resolving issues to maintain 100% service delivery.
- Able to rig and de-rig the Formula 1 sporting timing systems at event and the F1 Media & Technology Centre. This will include deployment of timing systems hardware, cabling, positioning, unpacking, setting up, and fault finding of equipment in the timing room, pit lane, around the circuit.
- The candidate will have the skillset to monitor, validate, edit live motorsport acquired data and save/archive all timed sessions with reference to the relevant sporting regulations per series.
- Generate, validate, quality assure and publish the suite of timing results, data and analytical products produced by the F1 timing and sporting systems to internal and external clients in line with F1 procedures and contractual obligations.
- To produce, contribute and quality check reports and documentation as necessary during and post events for motorsport sessions or other tasks in relation to timekeeping, regulations, and other sporting analyst tasks, including the collation and curation of events’ results such as the live historic database.
- Liaise with motorsport series’ organisers’ and/or event stewards and any relevant internal/external stakeholders to undertake any changes or support as requested abiding by F1 processes.
- Respect all aspects of testing and quality control of the interconnected software and hardware systems in use by the Sporting Services Team, in line with company protocols and procedures.
- Support software and hardware development with accurate and detailed technical specifications and reports. Competent system proving, quality assurance with thorough testing of applications or systems for bug fixes, amendments, and continual improvements of sporting services equipment.
- Expected to participate in projects that involve creation, development, and improvement of F1 systems and processes and adhering to F1 risk, quality, and sustainability strategies.
- To complete all mandatory training within specified timelines and attend any meetings pertinent to the role as requested by your manager.
- To always operate safely, in line with Company health and safety requirements.
- Undertake other duties within your capabilities as your manager may assign to you from time to time.
We are looking for timekeeping experience within Motorsports, and where possible the following:
- National Timekeeping Officiating Licence issued by an ASN.
- HNC, HND or degree qualification in a technical field.
- ISTQB Certification Foundation Level.
You will be expected to attend & work at race events including weekends either on event or in our UK Media & Technology facility.
