Role Overview

As an Operations Manager at G4S you would be part of a dedicated team responsible for managing a number of safety and security personnel delivering professional services on our customer sites whilst maintaining the core values of G4S.

You would be supporting the development, operations and profitability of your assigned area through ensuring the best possible business performance, contract compliance and delivery.

This is a full time, permanent role working Monday - Friday.

Scope of work:

  • Reports directly to and serves as liaison with EP & Event Security manager (CS)
  • Managed (HR) by G4S Regional Manager Greater London and East-Anglia.
  • Support EP Manager in delivering proportionate security for Executive Committee and preparing Executive Protection Plans for events.
  • Manage security service requirements for events, through EFA call off.
  • Tracking and managing ground transportation requests.
  • Coordinate and support Executive Protection (EP) Operations, information, and data processing
  • Arrange (G4S internal) Purchase Orders and effect invoicing for selected subcontractors.
  • Grow the network of subcontractors to support Residential Security with required services (E.g. Locks / postboxes / internal redecorating / gates / fences etc.)
  • Effectively maintain records of inquiries made by internal and external process partners, and the results of those inquiries.
  • Scheduling, maintaining monthly metrics/stats and assisting in any other additional administrative support requests
  • Perform confidential and administrative functions that may include quality control, department communication and special projects
  • Conduct Security Risk assessments for EC Residences, deliver integrated security plans and produce powerpoint and other documents to support.
  • Provide travel risk assessment of EC members, advise on necessary mitigation, and produce travel briefs.
  • Conduct pre site security risk assessment/checks for events, produce security plans and manage security requirements for the event.
  • Liaise with (senior) event organisers and hosting partners for required integrated security measures.
  • Perform administrative and support duties of a sensitive and confidential manner to confirm that contractors and/or third-party vendors are compliant with Shell requirements.
  • Acts as a Liaison for EP Security Drivers (Rental Vehicles, Hotel accommodations.)
  • Manage all security measures including guards and /or drivers for internal and external EC events.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by EP & Event Security manager

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree and/or equivalent work experience in personal protective measures
  • Networked with UK security services including police  Experience of managing/leading a small team and event security
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Strong customer service and quality orientation
  • High level of planning and organisation skills;
  • Competent computer skills in Microsoft word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Create schematic overviews of event sites, using PowerPoint or other tool.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, for engagement with security operators and at Executive level.
