gap personnel Gloucester are recruiting for 1 Production Operative in Tie Manufacturing Division for an ongoing temp to perm role for one of the definite British shirtmaker company.

This is an integral role in the manufacturing process of men’s ties. This is predominately a hand sewing position, but our Ties and Bowties are manufactured in-house, so there may be an opportunity for the right candidate, to learn and assist in the manufacture of ties & bow ties. This will entail machining, pressing, finishing, and quality control.

For those that are able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, and a commitment, there are permanent opportunities available after completion of probation period.

Key duties and responsibilities:

· Hand Slipping / sewing ready – to – wear, made to measure and bespoke ties, in a variety of different cloths from woven and printed silk wool and linen, to achieve the required length and width specifications

· Quality control as the production goes

· Machining and pressing using a variety of industrial presses

Full training for the role will be also provided.

Skills:

· Required min 2 years’ of experience in hand sewing textiles ( possibly making curtains )

· Slipping experience preferred but not essential

· High attention to details

· Hard work and efficiency

Shifts and working hours:

· Full-Time

· Monday – Thursday: 7:45am – 4:30 pm

· Friday: 7:45am – 1:30pm

Hourly Pay Rates

• £11.50 per hour (under 1 years’ service), £12.00/hr (1 years’ service and over)

Successful candidates will be hardworking individuals and the role would suit someone with an interest in fabrics and sewing, looking to further their skills.
