Warehouse Operative - Early Shift

Based at our purpose built, one million sq. ft. distribution centre at Amesbury, Wiltshire the site supports our plans to grow from 580 to 1,000 stores.

The site is one of the most advanced and highly automated distribution centres in the UK and runs 24/7.

The Warehouse Operative roles cover any 5 days out of 7, including weekends and available shifts include:

• Earlies – 6am – 2pm
• Lates – 2pm – 10pm
• Nights – 10pm – 6am

Suitable candidates will be reliable with a hands on approach to work.

General warehouse duties include using an automated system (caddy pick) to pick products onto cages to be dispatched to store. Other picking elements include Order Picking Units (OPUs), Pedestrian Picking, Secure Picking and manual handling, as well as being on your feet for the duration of your shift - you can expect to walk up to 12 miles per shift.

Opportunities at Home Bargains include progression into other areas of the warehouse including Voice Pick, Loading, Dekit, Goods In and more.

• Follow instruction and adhere to health and safety practices and procedures
• Complete general warehouse duties including picking, dekit, loading and decant
• Work towards achievement of pick rate and other targets

• Good communication skills
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work to targets
• Able to work well under pressure and to tight timeframes
• Available to work weekends as part of the normal shift pattern (on a 7 week rota which does include a mix of weekend and non-weekend working)
• Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided

• £11.13 per hour
• Plus £2.74 hourly night shift allowance (assigned to and working 10pm - 6am) equivalent to £13.87 per hour
