Founded in 2002, Infinium are an experienced team of IT & Wi-Fi specialists providing National connectivity support within the leisure industry. Following an exciting period of growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Fibre Splicer to join our existing highly experienced and skilled team of field engineers.

As Fibre Splicer your duties will include:

• Adherence to Health and Safety Policy and Procedures

• The Installation termination, diagnosis, testing, maintenance and repair of data networks utilising both copper and fibre technologies in accordance with current standards.

• Work with the ground works teams to ensure cables are pulled and ready for termination

• accordance with current standards

• Installation of cable management and all associated infrastructure i.e. comms cabinet, PDU and shelving

• Support the wider engineering teams with WiFi maintenance and installation.

• Travel to customer sites across the UK along with overnight stays

• Working asa customer focused team player with a ‘Can Do’ attitude.

To be successful in your application of Fibre Splicer you should be able to demonstrate:

• Ability to terminate copper and splice fibre data cabling for both single and multimode fibre.

• IT Competent being able to operate a laptop with the Microsoft Office suite.

• Ability to operate small hand tools, including drill / driver.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills. A great team worker with ability to work alone.

• Flexible working approach

Essential:

• Driving Licence (ideally with no endorsements and minimum 1 years’ experience)

• Demonstrable experience of data cabling with both copper and fibre

• Internal and external cable pulling

• Experience of working in a field-based capacity

• Being able to work at heights.

• Formal Fibre Splicing/ Data Cabling Training

Desirable:

• IPAF trained and / or certified.

• Valid CSCS card

• Experience of installing and maintaining WiFi networks (not including design and configuration)

• Working outdoors with direct bury and / or ducted cabling solutions.

• Exposure to trenching and ground works.
