Role Overview & Responsibilities

Purpose
To optimise InterGens flexible portfolio of 2.5GW CCGT and300MW OCGT through trading intra-day power and gas in the GB market andparticipation in the Balancing Mechanism.
Working as part of a 24/7 shift team (12 hour shifts), youwill be part of a high performing group, maintaining the highest work standardsin a supportive culture.
Job Summary
Principal responsibilities are described below:
- The Shift trader will work in a 24 hour shiftpattern and be responsible for:
- Within-day optimisation of power and gasportfolio positions responding to spot market prices
- Day to day interface with InterGen power stationcontrol rooms, power and gas system operators and long term contractcounterparties
- Monitoring and forecasting of short-term powerand gas prices and market activity
- Notification and nominations under industrycodes for gas and power
- Balancing Mechanism strategy and pricing
