Farm Worker
Role Overview & Responsibilities
An opportunity has arisen for a herdsperson to join a progressive team on the stunning Pembrokeshire coast, on a grass-based dairy farm nestling on a clifftop above a beach.
This is a new role we have created at one of our dairies where we run a 550-cow spring calving herd of crossbreds.
The innovative set-up includes outdoor cubicles and paddock grazing with cows milked twice a day in a 50-point rotary parlour.
We are looking for someone who has the ability and enthusiasm to advance to a lead role on the unit, supporting the dairy manager in achieving our business goals. The ideal person will be able to work with, and oversee, other members of the team, be organised and efficient and have great attention to detail.
Excellent levels of animal husbandry and grass management skills are required for this role and also basic tractor skills.
Experience in foot trimming and AI is desirable as well as telehandler experience. However, as a business that is committed to the development of our team, training will be provided for the right candidate.
The job comes with a competitive rate of pay.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
