What you will be doing...
IT Release Engineer, based remotely.
Reporting into the IT Release Team Lead, we are looking for an IT Release Engineer to join the team responsible for deploying our back-office applications and delivering new key features. This is a vital role in the IT Team as we Work as One Team and Take Responsibility to focus on growing our teams and moving towards migration of our data centres into Cloud Platforms.
What will you do in the role?
Reporting into the IT Release Team Lead, we are looking for an IT Release Engineer to join the team responsible for deploying our back-office applications and delivering new key features. This is a vital role in the IT Team as we Work as One Team and Take Responsibility to focus on growing our teams and moving towards migration of our data centres into Cloud Platforms.
What will you do in the role?
- Deployment of releases to Test and Production environments as required
- Preparation of a suitable implementation plan for each release
- Environment data refreshes on request including update of associated code where required
- Maintenance and incident/problem management on key test environments e.g. Training, staging
- Post data refresh and Windows patching environment checks (usually evening)
- Contribute to key scrum ceremonies, e.g. Daily stand-up, backlog refinement, retrospectives
Project-based requests, including but not limited to: -
- Windows server upgrades
- Additional live servers to pools to improve performance
- New server QA checks and Octopus install
- Configuration updates to Octopus and release of these changes following release approval process
- Support pre-peak preparation actions (usually October to December)
- Creation of Azure DevOps release pipelines following documentation and templates
What are the key skills/experience you’ll already have?
- Deployment to production environments (preferably Octopus or Azure DevOps)
- Environment management
- Scrum/agile working
