Quality Control Officer
Role Overview & Responsibilities

Due to an organic growth within our business, we are seeking a talented Quality Control Officer to join the business. This is a new role within our business and we require an individual who shows initiative and is flexible. Therefore, ability to work with all departments is key.
Who you are:
- The successful candidate must be a motivated individual with a hands-on approach as well as a good understanding of the principle and practices of food handling and a proactive attitude is a key for this role. Background (studies or working experience) in food safety/quality required. Experience in a fast-moving Food Manufacturing environment. Basic understanding of BRCGS requirements, Health & Safety, Food Safety, Food Hygiene, HACCP, COSHH
Duties will include:
- Carrying out quality checks on all the areas of the production line (finished products, raw material, fridge/freezer temperatures checks) and record on correct paperwork
- Record the traceability on the line
- Coach team members to ensure they are able to carry out duties in a safe manner
- Monitoring standards of personal hygiene, housekeeping, food safety, traceability, allergen
- Check that the stock rotation (FIFO) is respected
- Completing all documentation required accurately and promptly
- Work side by side with the production and shift leaders to ensure that the food safety standard and the quality of the products are met
- Following and understanding the HACCP procedures
- Collecting and preparing any samples as and when requires
- Assess key raw materials, work in progress components and finished product against written quality parameters
- Assist in Customer complaint investigations, corrective actions
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £10.00-£12.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

- Leicester: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- Quality control: 1 year (preferred)
