Role Overview & Responsibilities
Lawstop, a legal aid law practice, seeks a full time Paralegal to assist our Housing team. Our office will be based in Bristol and hybrid working is available.
Duties will include
1. Meeting clients (either in person or by video call)
2. Taking detailed instructions
3. Drafting correspondence
4. Drafting legal documents
5. Instructing counsel and experts (such as psychologists/psychiatrists)
6. Making applications for legal aid
7. Liaising with other solicitors
8. Reporting to the Legal Aid Agency
9. Attending court with counsel (either in person or by telephone/video)
10. General office administration and support
You must have:
1. Initiative
2. Time management skills
3. A sense of humour
4. A desire to want to help people
5. The ability to work under pressure
6. Experience working with vulnerable people
Legal aid experience is very desirable.

Salary: £24,000.00 per year

- Taunton: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- Paralegal: 1 year (preferred)
