Job Description

We are a friendly, close-working all-Wales marine advice team and the post is one of 2 advisors in the team, working closely with the 8 senior advisors. The role requires you to lead on or support with the coordination of specialist marine technical advice into casework, sometimes providing the advice yourself, where skills permit.

You will work collaboratively internally and externally to seek, share and promote evidence and a natural resource management and ecosystem services approach.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work efficiently, often to tight deadlines and who is able to effectively prioritise their workload to deliver more for the marine environment. Whilst predominantly home/office based, there is opportunity to undertake fieldwork as we work closely with marine monitoring colleagues. You will need to demonstrate knowledge of marine legislative requirements particularly relating to marine conservation; and ideally experience of marine casework.

Knowledge and experience of the following:

Marine environment skills and experience.

Knowledge of marine legislative requirements.

Knowledge and some experience of monitoring methods.

Knowledge and experience of marine casework and the different legislative frameworks.

Good communication and influencing skills.

Good analytical and interpretation skills in relation to marine data, report critiquing and writing skills.
