Role Overview & Responsibilities
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This is a fixed term post for 36 months.
NHS GGC and NHS Education for Scotland are delighted to announce this post which provides an excellent opportunity for a science graduate to train as a specialist Gastrointestinal Physiologist.
This three year training post includes work-based learning at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and rotational attachments to other hospitals in the board area. The post is supernumerary and paid at Band 6 level.
It is supported by a fully funded place on the Clinical Science MSc at the University of Newcastle. The applicant should hold a Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate field e.g. a biomedical science.
At completion, the trainee will be able to register as a clinical scientist with the Health and Care professions council.
