Kitchen Assistant/Delivery Driver

Nice Times Bakery is hiring!

We are looking for a bakery assistant/delivery driver to join our fun and friendly team.

If you are a great baker but don’t have professional experience, or if you have experience in a commercial kitchen and want to branch into bakery work then this could be the job for you.

What the role entails:

You will assist in the preparation of all our baked goods - think rolling cookie dough, lining tins, peeling and chopping fruit and veg, making jams and weighing ingredients. You should be efficient, take pride in the quality of your work and have good attention to detail

You’ll help keep the bakery clean and tidy - doing dishes, organising the pantry, dusting up copious amounts of flour, getting behind all the big pieces of equipment for a good scrub and sorting the recycling

You will deliver our goods to the nice people of Edinburgh - you will pack up our home deliveries all neat and nice and tidy and make sure they are delivered in perfect condition as well as leave the bakery nice and early to get to all our wholesale customers promptly each morning. You must be over 25 and hold a full drivers license for this role

There will be further bakery training fore the right candidate - both in developing bakery skills and in front of house if that is of interest

The bakery operates 7 days a week. Your shift pattern will have set days - Saturday, Sunday, Monday plus a fourth day that suits you, with a degree of flexibility being advantageous. Hours are 20-25 with lots extra to pick up during busy periods and holiday cover

The team is great fun, you have access to a lot of treats as well as coffee (5 days a week) made just for you by our baristas and we are a real living wage employer.
