Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Royal Oldham Hospital Mortuary Department is a newly built and innovatively designed mortuary providing comprehensive Mortuary, Post-mortem Services to the four hospitals of the Trust, the Greater Manchester Coroners, the Home Office and the local community.
The Department is HTA licensed; and is UKAS accredited. The mortuary is well-equipped. The department processes a workload of approximately 6000 deaths per annum, 2,000 Coronial post-mortems and 200 Forensic Home Office post-mortem examinations per annum.
