Entry Level Healthcare Chaplain (Anglican or Free Church)
Reports to: Chaplaincy & Spiritual Care Manager
Responsible to: Assistant Director of Nursing, Specialist Palliative Care, Bereavement and Chaplaincy
Based at Fairfield General hospital the chaplain will need, at times, to visit patients at Rochdale Infirmary.
- To work within multi-faith chaplaincy and spiritual care team and to respond to the spiritual, religious, cultural and pastoral needs of all patients, visitors and colleagues
- To participate in the provision of 24 hour chaplaincy service for Bury, Rochdale and Oldham, and be flexible to meet the requirements of on call.
- Due to identified occupational requirements this post holder will need to be of a Christian faith (Anglican or Free Church) as is 'Permitted under Schedule 9, part 1 of the Equality Act 2010'.
- To work in an integrated fashion, holding together management responsibilities, clinical pastoral work, education and teaching, committee and group work as well as responding to emergencies and the unexpected. You will need to work in a reactive as well as proactive manner and in accordance with Spiritual Care Standards as agreed by the College of healthcare Chaplains and the UK Board of Health Care Chaplains.
