Role Overview & Responsibilities

If you undertake an engineering-related apprenticeship, there are a number of areas across which you will develop during the apprenticeship, which may range from types of welding, riveting and sheet metal work to continuous improvement and quality skills, as well as understanding the role of Supply Chain to the business.

Our Supply Chain Apprentices will start their career by studying for a Level 2 Engineering Apprenticeship to provide a solid foundation of our products and process which will enhance their skills as Supply Chain professionals. They will then progress to a Supply Chain Apprenticeship. Duration is likely to be up to 3 - 5 years, depending on progress and the pathway chosen.

Our Engineering Apprentices will undertake a 4 year Apprenticeship, focused on their particular specialism, but once again developing skills and knowledge across the engineering disciplines.

Successful candidates will attend college on a part time basis which will be supplemented by in-company training and support. We have a dedicated Apprenticeship training area, where you will be supervised and trained by experienced Line Leaders who have a wealth of experience of engineering and apprenticeship development.

Throughout your Apprenticeship, you will benefit from coaching and mentoring from past and current Apprentices as well as other professionals within the company. The Apprenticeship will culminate in an independent End Point Assessment, consisting of a professional discussion and test.

On successful completion, you will have the opportunity to continue to work in a very successful, global business.

You should have a positive attitude and be keen to learn, with natural curiosity. You will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, grades 5 - 9 which must include English, Mathematics or a science. Other characteristics we will be seeking include:

  • A genuine interest in engineering

  • Good interpersonal, communication and report writing skills

  • A self-starter and good team worker
