Role Overview & Responsibilities
Production Machine Operator
Are you a proactive team-player, preferably with experience working in a production or
warehousing environment (although this is not essential)? We’re looking for someone to
join our busy Production team (also providing flexible warehouse support) in this active,
fast-paced role.
What you’ll be doing (training will be provided)…
Primary duties: Production tasks
- Operating production machinery to manufacture products in accordance with bill of materials and Company quality standards
- Minimising waste whilst maximising output levels
- Quality-checking output product for non-conformance materials
- Recording details of all manufacturing activities on the system in an accurate and timely manner
- Disposing of all production waste appropriately & maintaining a clean working environment
- Carrying out ancillary production tasks, including but not limited to; o Core Cutting o Rewinding o Log-cutting o Repacking o Collating consumables (Sample Packs, Swatch books, etc.) o Stock checking of components o Packing, labelling & palletising manufactured product
Our Production and Logistics teams work very closely, and from time to time, you may be asked to assist in our Warehouse.
Secondary Duties: Logistics tasks
- Assisting with unloading & putting away inbound goods
- Assisting with picking & packing goods for outbound orders
- Stock taking
- Racking bin replenishing
- General housekeeping, including waste disposal, tidying and consolidating stock location
- Assisting with processing reverse logistics (i.e. customer returns)
- Any other reasonable task your manager believes you are capable and trained to perform
What are we looking for?
- Ability to perform manual handling (training will be provided)
- Previous experience in a production or warehouse environment (desirable, not essential)
- Previous experience driving forklift & clamp truck vehicles (desirable, but not essential – training can be provided)
- Attention to detail
- Accurate data-entry skills/ record keeping
- A team-player & willing to work flexibly
- Proactive/ use your own initiative
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to learn and develop new skills
Hours, Remuneration & benefits
- Monday – Friday, 8.00am – 5.00pm (30 mins lunch break)
- Auto-Enrolment into Contributory Pension Scheme
- Annual Leave: 20 Days (rising to 23 days with length of service) + All bank holidays
- Based in Crawley, West Sussex
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £23,000.00 per year
