A rare opportunity to help the recovery of wildlife and nature across Cumbria’s farmed landscapes...

Land Management Advisor

Salary: £29,833.74 per annum. Plus pension contribution of 9% based on a 35-hour week.

We’re looking for a passionate, committed and energetic individual to assist the Senior Land Management Advisor in helping nature recovery at a landscape-scale in Cumbria.

The role will involve developing relationships with the community of farmers, land managers and landowners in Cumbria who wish to practice ‘regenerative’ farming and/or ‘wild’ their land sympathetically for wildlife. This includes supporting and helping farmers move towards participation in the forthcoming Environmental Land Management (due to be introduced in 2024) scheme.

Working as part of Cumbria Wildlife Consulting, the Trust’s Land Management Advice Service, the role will assist in developing and delivering a range of innovative approaches and blended funding mechanisms to achieve the Trust’s vision and the Cumbria Local Nature Recovery Strategy. Some of this activity will be channelled through a new subsidiary Community Interest Company which the Trust will be setting up in due course and will include delivery of a range of work programmes and projects for paying clients across Cumbria.

Completed application forms should be returned with a covering letter outlining the candidate's suitability for the post, to Claire Shepherd, HR Manager, Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Plumgarths, Crook Road, Kendal, Cumbria, LA8 8LX or by email to admin@cumbriawildlifetrust.org.uk.

Closing date for applications is 09:00am on Tuesday 2 May 2023

Interviews will be held week commencing 9 May 2023
