Role Overview & Responsibilities
Sandiacre Nurseries, grow and sell 'Perfect Choice' bedding plants and is a family-owned specialist of wholesale bedding plants. It is now recruiting additional temporary staff for its 2023 season, from its base in Wood Street Village.
A very seasonal based industry we need a bigger team that can help us produce, manage/move the plants as they grow and then support our delivery process by picking/moving the plants on trollies to allow us to deliver 7 days a week, in a busy environment on our own fleet of lorries.
The work will be varied and will include;
-working as part of a team over both our sites in either production or dispatch
-production involves planting our baby plants and seedlings for the forthcoming season, some manual and some automated systems
-cutting back, caring for the plants and moving plants to different greenhouses as they mature
- dispatch, where all plant orders need to be gathered, collated and prepared daily to send to our local garden centre customers
-watering our plants
-general nursery maintenance/tidying
Previous experience not required , but helpful, however committed reliable people with a willingness to learn, a desire to help us grow and an ability to follow instructions is as perhaps as essential.
Work available 7 days a week on a rota basis and seasonal overtime also available, with good pay rates and seasonal incentives available for the right candidates.
