Kitchen Assistant/Cook

Schumacher Packaging are searching for a kitchen assistant to support our employees for refreshments and meals.

You must be reliable and competent in general aspects of kitchen duties, be happy to follow instruction from the chef and be capable of running the kitchen in the absence of chef from the knowledge he has imparted in advance for specific duties.

This role involves but is not limited to:

· Following recipes of the chef i.e. sandwiches and their content

· Help prep and serve food prepared by chef or self

· Serving teas and coffees and other beverages

· Assisting with food service during the day

· Cleaning kitchen and washing up throughout the shift

· General duties i.e. cleaning work surfaces, cupboards, floors etc;

Requirements:

• The Assistant Cook/Chef will ideally hold an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Genuine interest in providing a great food service
• Flexible to cover the Head chef when required

· Basic cookery and cleaning skills essential

· Health and safety measures are adhered to in the kitchen and in other areas required

· Acting in a professional manner

· Be physically and medically able to carry out all duties with or without assisted aids

· Have a pleasant and happy attitude

· Ability to work at a fast paced in a busy environment

· Good time keeping is essential

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 22 per week

Salary: £10.50-£11.00 per hour
