Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking to expand our team with inspirational Associate Lecturers (ALs) who have a passion for delivering high quality learning experiences along with substantial accounting experience gained through teaching, relevant industry experience or both. You will join our Department of Finance, Accounting and Business Systems and will contribute to our mission to transform the lives of our students.
We would expect you to have strong technical skills, an understanding of developments within the accountancy sector and a solid understanding of financial and management accounting.
You may be currently working in a relevant industry and/or have spent time working in a relevant industry and may be interested in combining this with your enthusiasm and ability to pass on your knowledge and experience by creating and delivering high quality learning, teaching and assessment.
You may be asked to teach modules to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, usually through either a lecture or tutorial format, and will also contribute to the design of some learning activities and assessments. Dissertation supervision may also be part of your role.
Becoming an AL can be an excellent introduction to teaching in higher education. Some teaching experience would be an advantage, however you may have well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant from both an academic and/or professional perspective in one or more of the following:
• Accounting - Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Corporate Reporting, Forensic Accounting and Taxation • Finance - Banking, Investment, Risk Management and Derivatives
  • Economics - Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Econometrics
