What is the role?
We have an exciting new opportunity for an undergraduate student to join our Performance Analysis department at Southampton Football Club for the 2023/24 season. The successful applicant will be responsible for the analysis provision in 1 or 2 age groups as well as assist permanent members.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for candidates who can be part of a multi-disciplinary team of people, be proactive and innovative in their approach and communicate effectively at all levels.
This placement MUST form part of the overall degree programme in order for you to be considered.
The competencies which are required include:
Essential Experience:
- A high level of football knowledge
- A good understanding of the elite sporting environment
- Proficient using Keynote, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
Essential Qualifications (including certifications):
- Undertaking a bachelor level degree in a sports science related degree that permits a placement year
Essential Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Good team player – desire to develop others within your team
- A strong work ethic and proactive attitude
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks
- Quality focus – takes responsibility for ensuring a high quality of work
- Drive and energy – demonstrate enthusiasm and is personally committed to achieving objectives set
- Self-motivated - Driven and able to work off own initiative as well as follow guidance and instruction
- Self-development – is receptive to feedback about own behaviour, strengths and areas for improvement
