Assistant Greenkeeper

The Mere Golf Resort & Spa is a destination for business and pleasure, with an 81 bedroomed hotel, expansive wedding and event spaces, Championship golf course and an award-winning spa, set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside.

We are currently expanding our dedicated Greenkeeping team and have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Greenkeeper, who will have a vital role in ensuring our golf course is maintained to a championship standard.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a greenkeeper
• NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) in sports turf
• Ability to work unsupervised and in a team
• High level of attention to detail in all tasks undertaken
• Good communication skills
• Strong work ethic and self-motivation
• Good time management

The below attributes would be an advantage:

• Spraying Pa1, 2 and 6
• Chainsaw cs 30/31
• Possesses a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
• A sound understanding of the game of golf

Duties will include:

• Daily turf maintenance and preparation to high standards
• Maintaining bunkers
• Preparation and routine maintenance of machinery
• Communicating effectively with colleagues, supervisors, members and guests
• Monitor and maintain health and safety working practices
