Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Clinical Teaching Fellows will be based in the Division of Medical Education, School of Medical Sciences. The Division leads the delivery of an innovative undergraduate medical programme (the MBChB), supported by a Staff Development programme of training and development. Professionals in Medical Education: PRiME is the externally facing arm of the MBChB Staff Development programme, offering over 300 workshops to support its teachers through the year.

PRiME Foundation is a pioneering component offering core skills in education, teaching and learning to foundation doctors in our region through a collaboration with Health Education England North West.

The successful candidates will have successfully completed Foundation Year 1 and Year 2 training, and contribute to delivery and expansion of our innovative staff development programme focusing especially on PRiME Foundation. This involves teaching Foundation Doctors across the North West, usually on a Tuesday and/or Wednesday and/or Thursday afternoon, using Zoom, which you could if you wish do from home (pending approval of suitable internet connectivity and work environment) or on the University of Manchester campus at Oxford Road.

Candidates will have experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, and ideally experience of staff development. They will have a sound understanding of teaching theories, teaching methodologies and research practices.

Experience in teaching using digital platforms is preferred.
