Role Overview & Responsibilities
Thompsons Solicitors has an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Solicitor to join our award winning team in Llanelli, undertaking a 2-year period of recognised training (training contract), developing skills and experience in drafting, legal research, interviewing clients, negotiating and much more.
The period of training will lean towards specialist asbestos related disease litigation, with exposure to other areas of legal practice as required. This role will be primarily assisting our team of specialist asbestos lawyers. The training will also cover seats in other practice areas such as Clinical Negligence, Employment Rights (discrimination, equality, unfair dismissals and settlement agreements) and Criminal Law & Professional Misconduct, meeting the requirements of the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
We offer a comprehensive programme, where each day is different and brings new and stimulating challenges, with ample opportunity to learn. Regular supervision, feedback and support will be provided to ensure success in qualifying as a solicitor.
The successful candidate will have a 2:1 law degree and will have completed the Legal Practice Course. A keen eye for detail and ability to work quickly, and with accuracy, will be essential, along with excellent communication and client care skills as the role will involve liaising with vulnerable clients.
