The UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (GOS ICH) The mission of the UCL GOS Institute of Child Health is to improve the health and well-being of children, and the adults they will become, through world-class research, education and public engagement. The UCL GOS ICH, together with its clinical partner Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, forms the largest concentration of children’s health research outside North America. About the role

The central role of this post is to validate a therapeutic strategies in cellular and mouse models to move forward into the clinic. A number of molecular and cellular biology techniques will be employed in this project including tissue culture. and in vivo rodent experimentation. The post holder will generate viral vectors, perform stereotactic injections and surgery, collect tissues from mice, perform IF staining on sections, and perform cell culture. She/he will carry out the tissue collection, analysis and interpretation of the data. The salary range for this post is £38,308 to £40,386 pa and this post is available for 18 months in the first instance.

About you

PhD in molecular biology, cell biology or virology or related discipline, skilled in a range of cellular and molecular biology techniques and experience in mouse manipulation and management of mouse colony, breedings, weanings. Knowledge of muscle and therapeutic strategies are desirable.
