Trainee Plaster Technician
Role Overview & Responsibilities
We are currently looking to recruit a trainee Plaster technician (with progression to Band 4) within our Trauma and Orthopaedics Care Group at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. As a trainee you will be paid £18,397.40 in year 1 and £19,711.50 in year 2. On successfully completing the course you will be regraded to band 4 (£26,282).
ABOUT THE TRAINING.
We will offer the successful candidates a tailored training programme. To become a fully qualified orthopaedic practitioner takes around two years. Before attending one of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) validated courses, the trainee must work in casting for at least one full year. During this time they complete a portfolio or learning log that includes a record of casting-related experience, removal and application and pages showing reflection of learning resulting from these clinical experiences.Next is attendance at one of the validated courses held over five week's full-time study at Stanmore
