Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Medical Research Council Toxicology Unit is an internationally renowned institution focussed on the delivery of field-changing mechanistic insights into toxicology and disease.
We are looking to appoint an IT Technician to take responsibility for providing first and second line support for the IT services of the MRC Toxicology Unit, including problem solving of routine technical issues.
Key responsibilities
- Contact point for routine IT queries, providing first line investigation and diagnosis and promptly allocating unresolved issues as appropriate. Maintaining accurate records of user requests and outcomes
- Investigating problems in systems, processes and services and assisting with the implementation of remedies and preventative measures
- Installing/removing hardware and software
- Identifying and resolving network problems and maintenance tasks. Using network management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics
- Delivering learning activities to a variety of audiences with a view to the transfer of business and/or technical skills and knowledge and the promotion of professional attitudes to facilitate learning and development
You will have experience of working in a similar role within an IT department, have developed knowledge of a technical specialism within IT and educated to HND level or equivalent, or equivalent experience.
