Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Refugee Studies Centre (RSC) at the Oxford Department of International Development is looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Events and Administrative Assistant to join the team. This is a varied and interesting position and the post-holder will play a key role in the smooth running of the RSC, with a particular focus on events and the International Summer School in Forced Migration. The Summer School has an outstanding international reputation and is one of several important ‘flagship’ projects for the RSC.
The post holder will support the International Summer School, the Online School and other RSC events such as workshops and conferences. They will provide support for the Public Seminar Series and ad hoc events run via Zoom including assisting with editing videos for YouTube. They will support the Events and International Summer School Officer by responding to requests for information, administering the applications process, and updating the summer school database. They will also contact and liaise with speakers and tutors for the Online School in Forced Migration.
The successful candidate will have proven organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload effectively while working accurately with strong attention to detail. They will have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and external contacts and maintain a professional and cordial working relationships across cultures. They will have excellent English writing skills including the ability to draft communications and undertake reasonable copy editing.
This post is full time and fixed term for one year.
